Jewelry Box Before/After

Finished. The front plate for the lock has dissapeared, wont be easy to find a replacement.

Door Comparison

Same as below, but a more dramatic change. I could almost swear that some one at some point had used automotive "bondo" to try and even out the inside. We used none of that, a LOT of sanding. Missing the brass lock piece that goes on the front door; its somehwere here... Thats the only thing that is missing, the only thing keeping this from being completed.

Wood comparison

Realizing that some of these ohotos are repeats, still wamted to do aome compariaon from what we started with and the progress we made either un coating or durring the re coating process. Its amazing how detailed the grain of the wood was once all the layers or paint and laquer were removed.

Day 5

This is one of the first side pieces to get its first round of clear coats. After a LOT of patching and sanding.

Day 4

gluing, nailing and clamping oh my.

Day 3 prep

Some of the layers of paint and stain were so thick parts had to be chemically stripped before sanding could start.

Day 2 disassembled

Remember when we were trying to figure out why at some point in its life some one had decided to paint the interior white?
